Writing in progress
The draft of my new novel ‘Summer’s Shadow’ – the first book of an epic fantasy series for the YA market – is now finished and quietly simmering while I work on expanding the world in which it plays. The draft of the second book is also underway.
‘Summer’s Shadow’ was long-listed for the Mslexia Children’s & YA Novel Writing Competition in 2023 and also the Stockholm Writer’s Festival ‘First Five Pages’ prize in 2022.
Sprawling family trees of old Royal households, wars lost and won, an ancient prophecy, a despotic ruler and a country in turmoil are all somehow connected to one naive girl who is thrown suddenly into a desperate battle to save her country from destruction.
