For me it’s about the story and the characters that fill it, whether I’m writing for children or adults or anyone in-between.
During childhood – when not on an exciting adventure in the English rural county of Kent where I grew up – my days were taken up with daydreams of other worlds. Today, my life is spent in wonder as I weave words into magical kingdoms where my characters grow in strength and overcome their obstacles: from Tommy Turner’s fantastical worlds to somewhere as ordinary as the remote end of the Northern Line in London.
My time-travelling Tommy Turner books are written through the eyes of a twelve-year-old boy who finds he is an unlikely hero.
My short stories and poetry can be about anything, whether topical, true, torturous or tragic. You can find a selection in the pages of my website.
Recently, I completed the Undergraduate Diploma in Creative Writing at the University of Oxford, graduating with distinction. I live in Luxembourg with my husband and two cats, Shadow and Hunter.
